Pacquiao needs Margarito, catch weight, fight in Mexico like an obese person needs Twinkies
Yes, Manny Pacquiao can probably go ahead and do it anyway, but he doesn't really need it.
Like Twinkies to an obese person with a failing heart, Pacquiao has no need to fight Margarito in Mexico furthermore at a catch weight.
GREED and GLUTTONY are silent killers. We all know what Bob Arum is trying to feed us to fatten his pockets and cash cow, but you never know, this Twinky might very well be the one that gives the obese kid a stroke.
In fact, I'm calling this match-up "The Twinky Fight". Margarito is a Twinky that can only offer temporary satisfaction. There's not a lot of substance in it. Thing is, he isn't a sure win either for Pacquiao, and if Pac does indeed beat him, he would've only beaten a guy who was caught cheating and was destroyed by Shane Mosley who was shut out by Floyd Mayweather Jr. A win against Margarito does no good for his legacy and perhaps even puts it into question.
Yes, he defeated his other opponents fair and square and the catch weight demand against Cotto was okay, but to grab another belt against a disgraced opponent and ask him to go down to 150? I would tend to start agreeing with those who would question the legitimacy of Pacquiao's achievements if he does indeed push through with this one. It will tarnish his previous accomplishments to an extent. And if he loses? It's going to be like Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall. It would be catastrophic. And for what? Why would you risk everything you've worked so hard for, for a Twinky? Pacquiao will be fighting for practically NOTHING. Oh, money of course.
I get that catch weights have been done in the UFC and other instances in boxing too, but this is not the UFC and this is not that point in time whoever wants to compare it with. This is Manny Pacquiao who is down to his last fight or two. This is the fighter of the decade who is simply putting the final touches to his legendary career. Would you want to leave on a sour, bitter or salty note? I may be wrong but I say NO. Pacquiao's legacy has been about being a man for the people and fighting the best.
Margarito is not the best.
He used to be cool until he got caught cheating and he has done nothing of significance yet for him to even be note worthy. Let him earn his way back, don't reward him with the biggest fight of his life.
Everyone knows this is about one thing. MONEY. And when you say MONEY, you don't think Pacquiao, you think Mayweather. So why would Pacquiao want to start now? He can make a ton of money against anybody anyway. And if you ask me, he can take this Twinky, but I sure won't. Am I going to watch the fight? Sure! It's Pacquiao, what boxing fan does not want to watch him fight? All I'm saying is that there are other better options out there and I just wish Pacquiao exercised them.
Side Note:
No offense to all the fat people like my friend Minny Buboy, but if you really hate being that big, go work out and stop eating. Quit whining. Other than that, just accept that you are fat and be happy with your lives. Yes I said it. Being fat is just a state of mind. Love what you got, just mind the health risks.
